Our classes are extremely affordable - and with your membership, you are helping us provide classes to our older community on fixed incomes.

Ensuring the health of our older generation is of utmost importance. Exercise plays a crucial role in preventing falls, a strategy that can significantly enhance the health and well-being of our older adults. At Villages of Santa Fe, we understand the need for accessibility, so we offer exercise and lifestyle programs for older adults through convenient online classes and an extensive video library. 

 

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and independence is all about movement. Our nine weekly sessions focus on balance, flexibility, strength, and mental awareness. Led by experienced instructors who are also older adults, these classes are tailored to the specific needs of our older participants. Whether you need stretching, a calm mind, or a boost of strength, our instructors, Judith, Maria, kk, and Sharon, are here to guide you.

Balance + Mobility

Improve your balance and mobility, making you steadier on your feet and helping to prevent falls. It's vital as we age when the systems that help us maintain balance—our vision, our inner ear, and our leg muscles and joints—tend to deteriorate. The good news is you can prevent loss with balance and strength training. This 45-minute class includes warming up with aerobics, moving on to Kegel, balance, joint, and mobility exercises, and cooling down with stretches. No equipment is required. This is an entry-level class. Great for beginners.

Yoga Fusion

This 45-minute class uses yogic breathing techniques and stretching to improve flexibility and mobility. Self-care techniques such as hand and foot massages are included. This fusion between yoga and fitness helps develop upper and lower body muscle strength and eye and hand coordination. It improves posture with the results of more vitality, improved balance, and — a sense of well-being. This is an entry-level class. Great for beginners. Chair with no arms or wheels. Light weights (maximum two pounds) are optional
