Balance is an essential part of functional fitness and strength training. Having good balance helps prevent falls and injury and makes your daily activities easier. Maintaining balance is a complex task that requires coordination from your muscles, tendons, bones, eyes, ears, and brain. Balance + Beyond class is low impact and designed to help you improve your balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance. 60-minute intermediate class. Yoga mat, bands, weights (no more than 2 lbs), half foam roller, stability ball, but all exercises can be done without equipment.

Gentle Yoga with Judith

Gentle Yoga

This 60-minute class guided by Judith for seniors increases flexibility, balance, and harmony. Slow movements and deep breathing increase blood flow and warm up muscles while holding a pose can build strength. Yoga is as good as basic stretching for easing pain and improving mobility. Regular yoga practice may reduce levels of stress and body-wide inflammation. Feel increased mental and physical energy, a boost in alertness and enthusiasm. Join Judith for a class that will improve your life and your joy of living. Beginner to Intermediate. Equipment: Yoga mat, yoga blocks, yoga strap, weights (no more than 2 pounds), chair with no arms or wheels, rolled towel, or bolster.

Strength & Stretch - with Sharon

Stretch & Strength FREE Class

No equipment required, short and simple to follow, suitable for beginners – no floor work.

It is important to stretch and strengthen tight or weak muscles to increase your flexibility, balance, and coordination. By improving your flexibility, not only will you be improving the range of motion in each of your joints, but you’re going to find yourself moving around with greater ease. Daily movements are easier. You will improve your posture, balance, and decrease your chances of a future injury.

Mind + Body with kk

Mind + Body

Release your stress, build strength, and increase your vital life force energy with our newest instructor KK Taylor. The moves are accessible to everyone and easy to do standing or seated. There is no floor work.  They can be modified for any fitness level to heal and condition your body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

 

There is nothing to learn, nothing to memorize. Just follow along for 45 minutes. And if I go left, you go right. It doesn't matter. We close with a guided visualization. Think of it as a vacation of the mind for 45 minutes. Just pure relaxation and true nervous system reconditioning. Then, walk into your day full of peace, calm, and stress-free. All the relaxation and flow work that we do decreases the inflammation in the body and releases endorphins that help us feel good.  Just what we all need! Equipment: chair with no arms or wheels.  If you do have wheels make sure that they are locked.

Balance + Mobility

Improve your balance and mobility, making you steadier on your feet and helping to prevent falls. It's vital as we age when the systems that help us maintain balance—our vision, our inner ear, and our leg muscles and joints—tend to deteriorate. The good news is you can prevent loss with balance and strength training. This 45-minute class includes warming up with aerobics, moving on to Kegel, balance, joint, and mobility exercises, and cooling down with stretches. No equipment is required. This is an entry-level class. Great for beginners.

Yoga Fusion

This 45-minute class uses yogic breathing techniques and stretching to improve flexibility and mobility. Self-care techniques such as hand and foot massages are included. This fusion between yoga and fitness helps develop upper and lower body muscle strength and eye and hand coordination. It improves posture with the results of more vitality, improved balance, and — a sense of well-being. This is an entry-level class. Great for beginners. Chair with no arms or wheels. Light weights (maximum two pounds) are optional
